Why is an LEW required?+

EMA requires electrical installation work to be carried out or supervised by a Licensed Electrical Worker of the appropriate class. ISS coordinates the project around the appointed LEW’s technical authority.

Can ISS coordinate temporary generator backup?+

Yes. We can coordinate the generator, temporary distribution, cables, manpower, testing and transfer sequence according to the site requirement and appointed LEW’s instructions.

How early should shutdown planning begin?+

Lead time depends on the installation, stakeholders, backup-power scope and approval process. Early planning allows adequate surveys, load checks, notices and contingency preparation.

Can the work be scheduled outside operating hours?+

Yes. Shutdowns can be planned for nights, weekends or agreed low-activity periods, subject to access, approvals, manpower and equipment availability.
